CRAWDADDY! Magazine: the early years

The first rock and roll magazine, founded by Paul Williams in 1966 with a manual typewriter and a mimeograph machine:

"You are looking at the first issue of a magazine of rock and roll criticism. Crawdaddy! will feature neither pin-ups nor news-briefs; the specialty of this magazine is intelligent writing about pop music...."

Pages for the first 16 wild issues!

CRAWDADDY! New Series, Winter 1993 - Present

"This new incarnation is a newletter; the editor will write much but not all of each issue. The purpose as it was in 1966 is to use our common enthusiasm for and interest in new music as a basis for intimate and honest communication. "Our" means editor, writers, readers. This publication is dedicated to serving the spirit of music, that which rewards us and inspires us as we listen. It is not meant to serve the music business and will accept no advertising."
